Twinkle Twinkle Arti Book

Launched in Jan 2024 ‘Twinkle Twinkle Arti’ is a project based on SPHR research, the book has been developed to help facilitate conversations between trusted adults and children with lived experience of parental alcohol or drug use.

Twinkle Twinkle Arti is  freely available children's picture book that tells the story of Arti the star. In a galaxy not too far from Earth, the young wishing star is getting ready to grant her first wish to get her twinkle, but life for Arti is getting bumpy and things keep getting in the way.

Watch writer Danielle Slade read ‘Twinkle Twinkle Arti’

Myself and Tom Madge worked with writer Danielle Slade, a research team made up of Dr Ruth McGovern, Debbie Smart and Cassey Muir from Newcastle University, and families and young people with lived experience to co-create the valuable resource to aid opening up these important conversations with children.
